Frequently Asked Questions

Selective Projects

DiverCity Artistry is by appointment and project selective.
I focus on work that respects the craft, the time, and the story we’re building.
If it’s not the right fit, I’ll let you know early so nobody’s time gets wasted.

Q: So… what exactly do you do?

A: I help your business, brand, or space stop looking basic. Storefront and window graphics, interior walls, signage, media, 360 content, drone visuals, custom art, murals. If it’s visual and connected to your presence, I probably touch it.

Q: Where do you work? Do you have a shop I can walk into?

A: I’m a mobile, by-appointment studio based in Chicago. I pull up to you: storefronts, offices, studios, homes, events, sets. No walk-ins and no surprise visits. Reach out first, then we move.

Q: Is it free to reach out?

A: Yes. It’s free to contact me, ask questions, or send photos. No charge just to talk through ideas or see if we’re a good fit.

Q: Do you offer free previews?

A: Every project comes with one free concept preview once you send photos and details. It’s a quick visual to show direction and make sure we’re on the same page.
If you want detailed mockups, multiple versions, or deep exploration, that happens after a small project deposit—and that deposit goes toward your final piece.

Q: How many photos can I send?

A: You can upload up to 5 photos, videos, or documents through the website form. Pick the ones that best show your space, idea, or inspo. If I need more angles or details, I’ll ask.

Q: How much does this cost?

A: Every project is different, but I’m not “fifty dollars and a handshake” cheap.
Storefront work and installs usually start in the hundreds, not the tens.
Once I see your space, goals, and budget lane, I’ll give you a clear quote so you’re not guessing.

Q: How do we get started?

A:

  • Go to the Contact page.

  • Send photos of your space.

  • Tell me what you’re trying to improve.

  • I’ll reply with questions and a rough price range.

  • If it feels right, we lock in a walkthrough or call and set the date.

Q: What happens after I send photos and details?

A:

  • I review everything personally.

  • You get a rough price lane and a simple game plan.

  • I send one free concept preview so you can see the direction.

  • If we’re aligned, we secure a deposit, lock a date, and I pull up to execute.

Q: Do I need to have a full design ready?

A: Not at all.
Come with a full brand guide or with “I want it to feel like this.”
I handle design, layout, production, and how it fits your space.
The only thing I can’t work with is no info and no direction.

Q: Do you only do storefronts?

A: No.
I work on windows, walls, doors, vehicles, banners, interior features, murals, and media.
If it helps your brand or space show up better, I’m interested.

Q: Do you install in the winter?

A: Yes, with strategy.
Some installs move inside the glass or onto interior walls when it’s too cold.
If the weather makes something risky, I’ll tell you straight and adjust the plan.
I don’t install work knowing it will fail.

Q: Do you offer photo, video, or 360 content too?

A: Yes.
I shoot before and after photos, short vertical promos, drone visuals, 360 captures, and content that shows off the work.
Signs and content together hit much harder than either alone.

Q: Do you use AI or templates?

A: I use digital tools and previews to speed up ideas and help you see the direction—but every final piece is customized to your space. I don’t just press a button and call it done. The design, decisions, and execution are intentional and hands-on.

Q: Can you just “make it look cool real quick for cheap”?

A: I can make it look cool.
“Real quick for cheap” is not how I work.
Everything is planned, measured, and executed clean.
If you want the lowest possible price, there are other places for that.

Q: What’s your process like?

A:

  • You send photos and a quick rundown.

  • I respond with questions and a rough price range.

  • We lock in direction, finalize the quote, and secure a date with a deposit.

  • I show up, execute, and document the results.

  • You get a space that finally matches your vision.

Q: Why do you sometimes say no to projects?

A: Because my work is intentional.
I take on projects I can do well, not projects that stretch me thin or rush the process.
It’s never personal. It’s about timing, safety, scope, and fit.
If I say no, I’ll be respectful and honest.
If I say yes, you get my full attention.

Q: Are you a one-person studio or a big team?

A: I work independently by choice.
It keeps the quality tight, communication clear, and the results consistent.
That does not make me small. It makes the work personal and intentional.
When needed, I bring in trusted collaborators.

Q: How far do you travel?

A: Chicago and surrounding areas.
Longer distances are possible and may include a travel fee.

Q: How long do projects take?

A: It depends on the project.
Some installs are quick. Some pieces take hours or days.
Once I see your photos and understand your goals, I give you a realistic timeline.

Q: How fast do you respond?

A: Typically within 24 hours. For urgent projects, you can text or call and I’ll let you know what’s realistically possible.

Q: Do you take rush jobs?

A: Sometimes, depending on schedule and project type.
Rush fees may apply because I have to adjust priorities to make it happen.

Q: What’s your weather policy?

A: If Chicago wants to act up, we adjust.
If the weather risks the quality of your install, we reschedule or move inside.
I don’t install work that will fail the next day.

Q: What’s your policy on refunds, rescheduling, and privacy?

A: Custom work has no traditional returns.

  • Deposits are non-refundable once design begins or the date is locked.

  • Rescheduling requires at least 48 hours’ notice.

  • Last-minute cancellations may include a fee.

  • I keep your conversations and business information private.

  • Any photos or videos shared publicly are about the visuals, not your personal details.

  • If something serious comes up, talk to me and we’ll handle it as adults.

Q: How do payments work?

A:

  • Deposit to lock in design and install time.

  • Remaining balance due on completion.

  • Larger projects may use milestone payments.

Everything will be laid out clearly before we start.

Q: What forms of payment do you take?

A: Cash, card, invoice, and digital payment depending on the project.
All secure and properly documented.

Q: Do you share my project online?

A: I often document the work, but respectfully.
If you have privacy concerns, tell me and we’ll work around it.
Your business comes first.

Q: Can you recreate another artist’s work?

A: No.
I can take inspiration, but I do not copy.
Everything I create is original and tailored to your space.
